Importance Of Nitrogen

Written by cauliflowers.org

In order to make sure that cauliflower will grow the way they want it too they need to make sure that it is getting a sizable amount of nitrogen. While this may be easy for commercial farmers to accomplish it is not so simple for individual farmers.

A simple way of giving them the nitrogen they need is to make three different side dressings and mix it with the nitrate from soda. When you have done this you will make the first application after the cauliflower plants have been set in the field for three weeks. You will then want to do two more applications that are two weeks apart.

Every application that you use should be measured one tablespoon per plant, 200 pounds per acre, and one pound per 150 feet of row. When you pour the nitrate fertilizer onto the plants you want to make sure that it is three inches from the plant.
