It is important to make sure that you store cauliflower properly after you buy it. Whether it is cooked or raw you should make sure that it lasts as long as you need it. You don't want to waste food by storing it in a way where it would die quicker then usual. It is important to always store raw cauliflower unwashed and in the refrigerator. Washing it will cause the cauliflower to deteriorate at a fast pace. Place cauliflower in an open or perforated plastic bag with the stem facing down. Doing this will make sure that there is no extra moisture. Raw cauliflower is only good for five to seven days. Raw precut florets should be stored the same way - but are only good for two days.
When you have cooked cauliflower you can store it in a refrigerator dish. Cook cauliflower only lasts two or three days. You can blanch cauliflower and freeze it. Cauliflower can last a year this way. |
